So Why Blog ?
As I it sit here to write my first blog I am thinking why am I doing this. Well thinking out loud I would have to say it`s for a few reasons, both for me and for you. For me because it`s a good way to remind myself of the progress I`ve made, and for you to perhaps be an encouragement that you to regardless of your age can become or stay fit. I remember when I started down this road four months ago how rough it was. I still remember my first run, it was basically around the block. I remember coming home and coughing up a lung. I was determined though to push through ever hurdle that came. My run distance continued to get longer, till I was forced to run inside due to pain in my knees. In the beginning I would run for 30 minutes on the treadmill and it was killing me. I was determined though not to give up. I have now progressed to doing a combination of 30 minutes on the treadmill immediately followed by 30 minutes on the exercise bike. My routine has been to do cardio three times a week, but today the gym was closed. So I thought I`ll go running back outside and with my new running shoes I should be fine. Well running outside again was harder then I thought it would be. It seems I run in three segments divided into "hey this feels good", "man this is killing me" , and completed with 'wow watch me fly". Today I experienced something I had never experienced before. At the end of my run I cried, not because my run had finished me , but on the contrary I had finished my run despite really wanting to give up. So there is the encouragement to you, don`t give up but push through. The biggest battle is the one fought in the mind. Push on , drive through it, the body is to be mastered.
